FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Participants are required to e-register at the contest’s official website at pinoysuperheroes.com/register and agree to the contest’s mechanics and terms and conditions. Once this is accomplished, a confirmation email and the contest entry form will be sent to the email account registered by the participant.

Joining the contest is FREE. There is no registration fee required.

You must submit the following before March 14, 2018 (as indicated in the mechanics and entry form):

  • an accomplished entry form (with parental/guardian consent if necessary).
  • A two (2) to three (3)-minute video trailer with a minimun resolution of 720p in MP4 format showcasing the character/s in an action sequence. Video content can be, but not limited to animatics, live-action and/or animation copied in a DVD-Data or USB Flash Disk.
  • An illustration or photo of the character as normal citizen (if applicable) and as a superhero showing various profiles.
  • A production credits that contains the list of names of the talents and team members involved in the pre-production, production proper, and post-production of the entry.

Last day of submission of entries is on March 14, 2018 (Wednesday) not later than 6:00 PM (Philippine Time). Entries must be submitted in a sealed brown envelope personally or via courier to DV TechMedia Corp office located at Unit 2A, Ave Center Bldg., 1760 Dian St., Brgy. Palanan, Makati City.

Participants must submit the video with a minimum resolution of 720p HD/mp4 video format saved on a DVD- data disc or on a USB flash disk.

The grand prize winner shall receive one hundred fifty thousand Philippine pesos (Php 150,000.00) in cash.

The first-runner-up shall receive fifty thousand Philippine pesos (PhP50,000.00) in cash.

The second runner-up shall receive thirty thousand Philippine pesos (PhP30,000.00) in cash.

The remaining finalists shall receive ten thousand Philippine pesos (PhP10,000.00) in cash.

There is a prescreening of submitted entries on March 15 -17,2018. All ten (10) finalists will be advised on March 18,2018 via Call, SMS, and E-mail.

A final render (drawing or photo) of the character shall be submitted on a 1⁄4 size illustration board for the final judging.

The organizers are requesting the finalists to attend the Final Judging in the Comic Con Asia event in SMX, Pasay City on March 25, 2018 at 11:00am – 2:00pm. If they are not available, it is encouraged that they send a representative to the event.

The prizes will be claimed at the DV Tech Media Corp.’s office located at Unit 2A, Ave Center Bldg., 1760 Dian St., Brgy. Palanan, Makati City. The claimant should bring at least one (1) valid ID and the notification letter. If a representative will claim the prize, he/she should also bring an authorization letter signed by the winner.

Claiming period will be until sixty (60) days upon receipt of the registered mail. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited in favor of DV Tech Media Corp. with prior approval of DTI.

Yes, you may join as a team. We encourage collaboration among our participants. However, the team would have to choose only ONE (1) who will represent the group in the contest. It is very important that the members of the group are properly recognized through the credits.

Allocation of the prize to the winning teams would have to be done internally and the Organizer has no involvement on this.

Yes you may, as long as you comply with the requirements, have an original, and unpublished concept to submit.

Yes, as long as you are a Filipino citizen you can join!

Yes, you may submit more than one entry . Given that we promote a collaborative work environment, we foresee some multiple entries from different participants/group. However, we encourage that each participant/groups to submit their best work/piece.

Yes you may, but you are required to submit a signed PARENTAL CONSENT FORM.

One of the goal of the contest is to create an original concept or character that is unpublished and not posted nor streamed on any digital or print platform. Character/s directly derived from fictional or non-fictional copyright protected property/ies will not be accepted. Any infringement of copyright is a basis for disqualification.

Costume/s will be helpful but not a requirement. Each participant is encouraged to be resourceful (to manage their cost of production), creative and unique in creating their superhero design.

There will be two phases of judging; the Shortlisting phase and the Final Judging Phase. Each phase will be judged as follows:

Criteria for the SHORTLISTING phase:

  • Character – 50%
    The uniqueness of the characters, most especially the superhero/es. This also includes the distinctiveness of the powers, skills, strengths, and weaknesses of the superhero/es and/or villain/s. The superhero/es should embody the Filipino values, culture, and tradition.
  • Storytelling – 30%
    The theme is clearly defined and the plot is well-developed. The characters have great backstories, goals, and conflicts. The story is delivered clearly.
  • Visual Execution – 20%
    The creativity and technique of the participant in the art of filmmaking is visualized in the video. Part of the determining factor is how strong the video’s impact will be on the viewers.

Criteria for the FINAL JUDGING phase:

  • Character – 45%
  • Final Illustration of the superhero/es design – 5%
    The complete and final design of the superhero/es’ look, form, costume, etc.
  • Storytelling – 30%
  • Visual Execution – 20%

The final submission of the project will be on March 14, 2018. Pre-screening of the finalists will be on March 15-17, 2018. The final judging and announcing of winners will be on March 25, 2018 on ComicCon Asia event at SMX Convention Center.

We encourage the finalist to be present or represented during the final judging at Comic Con Asia.
